While not delving into the specifics of his initial plans, the change might not have impacted the outcome significantly. Mac McClung successfully defended his NBA Slam Dunk Contest title with a spectacular performance, culminating in jumping over Shaquille O’Neal for the win.

ImageBrown, however, showcased remarkable slams, including a tribute to Terrance Clarke in the final round, securing a second-place finish in his debut Slam Dunk Contest. Brown also paid homage to the legendary dunker Dominique Wilkins.

Despite falling short in the Slam Dunk Contest, Brown’s overall contributions and performances this season are commendable. Averaging 22 points per game for the Celtics and earning a spot on the NBA All-Star Game Eastern Conference team alongside teammate Jayson Tatum, Brown has reason to be proud. While he serves as a reserve, Tatum starts for the East. With a remarkable 43-12 overall record, the Celtics lead the Eastern Conference standings.
