Tsimikas and Endo Get Their Wins With National Teams

Kostas Tsimikas contributed an assist in Greece’s 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan in the semi-final of the European Championship qualification play-off on Thursday. The Liverpool left-back played the entire 90 minutes and delivered a precise cross that led to Dimitrios Kourbelis scoring the fourth goal just before halftime.

Greece secured their place in the play-off final against Georgia next Tuesday with a late fifth goal in Athens. The winner of that match will join Czechia, Portugal, and Turkey in Group F at Euro 2024 this summer.In another match earlier in the day, Wataru Endo came on as a substitute in the second half of Japan’s win over Korea DPR in the Asian qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Endo entered the game in Tokyo in the 58th minute, contributing to his team’s 1-0 victory thanks to Ao Tanaka’s early goal.
