Liverpool Cameback At Home Thanks To Diaz And Salah; Klopp’s 300th Win With The Kop: Anfield Roars

Liverpool once again shows the rest why they’re considered one of the best teams in Europe at the moment, as they came back to claim the win against Brighton at Anfield. Klopp also reached his 300th win with the Kop.

Welbeck’s goal, a crisply driven finish from just inside the area following a breakaway down the left flank, gave Brighton the lead before the game settled into any rhythm.

Liverpool responded well, although they lacked a cutting edge, and visiting goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen wasn’t tested during a flurry of off-target attempts.

Salah narrowly missed with his trademark curler, then miscued a volley from a well-placed pass by Alexis Mac Allister.Moments later, Salah toe-poked wide after a forward run by Bradley. However, Brighton’s lead didn’t last long. After a partial clearance from a corner, Salah won a header on the edge of the box, allowing Diaz to capitalize on a deflection and hook the ball home on the volley.Liverpool had several half-chances before the break, with Salah missing perhaps the best opportunity when he side-footed straight at Verbruggen after a rapid counter-аttаck, leaving the teams level at halftime.Liverpool dominated the second half from the outset, with Mac Allister heading wide and a fierce shot by Darwin Nunez being repelled by Verbruggen as the pressure mounted. Finally, Salah rounded off a fine team move, finishing low after a well-worked pass from Mac Allister via Dominik Szoboszlai.

It could have been 3-1 when Diaz converted Salah’s pass, only for Salah to be ruled offside by a fraction.Despite Liverpool’s continued attacking pressure, they were nearly punished when Lewis Dunk’s header was superbly saved by Caoimhin Kelleher. Former Liverpool player Adam Lallana came close with a low effort, but after Verbruggen denied Salah, the final whistle blew, securing the victory for Liverpool.
