Manchester City cruised into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 victory over Watford, thanks to a youthful squad and goals from Matheus Nunes and Jeremy Doku.

The Citizens fielded a side featuring five former Academy players, including a debut for 16-year-old defender Kaden Braithwaite.

Doku got the party started with a low drive in the fifth minute, giving City an early lead.

Nunes doubled the advantage with a clinical finish just before halftime.

Watford fought back late in the game, with Tom Ince pulling one back, but City held on to secure their spot in the next round.

While the result was positive, the match also highlighted the depth and talent within the City Academy, which continues to produce promising young players.
