Federico Chiesa’s wife Lucia posted a video at Anfield amid reports he was “unhappy” at Liverpool and wanted to leave in January after he made just three appearances for the club and had one assist

A video of Federico Chiesa’s wife, Lucia, at Anfield has surfaced amid growing speculation about the player’s future at Liverpool.

Following a relatively quiet summer transfer window for the Reds, Chiesa was the club’s sole immediate signing, arriving from Serie A giants Juventus. However, the 26-year-old has faced challenges adapting to his new surroundings, featuring in only three matches and providing a single assist since his move.

In recent weeks, Chiesa has been sidelined with an injury, fueling rumors of a potential January return to Italy. Reports suggest that three Serie A clubs are interested in securing the forward’s services, with speculation hinting at homesickness playing a role in the rumors.

Despite these claims, a video posted by Lucia, Chiesa’s wife, has drawn attention. Sharing various moments from the week on Instagram, Lucia included a clip of herself at Anfield, swaying to Liverpool’s iconic anthem, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” before a match. The post was accompanied by the caption, “Some random moments from the past few days.”

Addressing Chiesa’s struggles, Liverpool manager Arne Slot acknowledged the difficulties the player has faced since his transfer. “He missed an entire pre-season, as I’ve said many times before, and moving to a league where the intensity is perhaps higher than in Italy makes it even harder for him to reach the team’s current intensity levels,” Slot explained.

Slot also expressed sympathy for Chiesa’s situation, stating, “It’s tough for him, going in and out of training sessions due to injuries. I really feel for him.”

However, Slot offered some optimism ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Arsenal. “Federico might train with us today or tomorrow, but Diogo [Jota] definitely won’t. As for Conor Bradley, we’ll assess if he can join us tomorrow,” he said, signaling a possible return to training for Chiesa.
