After nearly two decades as the head coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, widely regarded as the greatest NFL coach of all time, has rarely been seen away from the sidelines. But this weekend, he took a well-deserved break and was spotted in Barbados with his girlfriend, Linda Holliday, 55, enjoying some sun and relaxation.

The couple made their way to the exclusive Sandy Lane Resort, where suites start at over $3,000 per night, after Belichick wrapped up the annual NFL Combine. During their tropical escape, Holliday shared moments of their vacation, showing the two enjoying ice cream, playing card games, and even indulging in a little shopping.

At 66, Belichick traded his usual short-sleeve sweatshirts for swim trunks and enjoyed a more casual vibe on the beach with his bikini-clad girlfriend. The couple spent their days lounging in the sun, strolling along the shore, and even relaxing on a diving float. Belichick was photographed applying suntan lotion to Holliday’s back, and the pair later cooled off in the crystal-clear waters.

Before meeting Belichick, Holliday, who grew up in Nashville, was a devoted fan of college football, particularly the Tennessee Volunteers. Her role in Belichick’s life has since expanded; she now runs his charitable foundation, a cause she’s passionate about. For Belichick’s 60th birthday, she suggested guests donate to the foundation rather than giving gifts. This initiative led to the foundation now giving away $350,000 in scholarships to football and lacrosse players.

Holliday, a former beauty queen who was a runner-up in the Mrs. Arkansas pageant, is also an active supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She praised Belichick for his ongoing commitment to charity and his drive to support causes close to her heart.

“I value and love that about him,” Holliday told CBS Boston in December. “We’re valued and privileged.”
