Dominik Szoboszlai has shared the importance of his Steven Gerrard tattoo and explained why he chose Liverpool’s iconic No. 8 jersey.
His arrival follows that of Alexis MacAllister, who has taken the No. 10 jersey, previously worn by Sadio Mane before his move to Bayern Munich.
With Naby Keita’s departure, the No. 8 jersey, most famously worn by Gerrard, was handed to Szoboszlai.

Gerrard has long been a source of inspiration for many Liverpool players due to his achievements in Istanbul and dedication to the club.
This admiration is shared by Szoboszlai, who has a quote from the late England midfielder inked on his arm: “Talent is a divine blessing, but without incredible will and humility, it is worth nothing.”
At 22, Szoboszlai is beginning to showcase his remarkable abilities.
In an interview with LFCTV about his move to Anfield, the Hungarian international explained his choice of the No. 8 jersey.
“It’s not for any specific reason, but it’s a significant number,” he said.
Many legendary players have worn this number.
Furthermore, Gerrard once said something memorable, which inspired me to get the tattoo.
Before Gerrard, the No. 8 was worn by players like Oyvind Leonhardsen, Jamie Redknapp, Paul Stewart, and Stan Collymore, and it was later adopted by Emile Heskey.
