According to reports, Marcus Rashford’s representative has visited Italy to talk with AC Milan about possible loan possibilities as the Manchester United winger grows more receptive to a change. Dwaine, Rashford’s brother, reportedly had initial discussions with Milan in January about a potential loan for the 27-year-old.
As Milan’s senior executives were returning from a recent trip to Riyadh, where they watched their club rally from a 2-0 hole to upset rivals Inter 3-2 in the Italian Super Cup, talks are still in their early stages.
The administration of Milan is presently debating whether to make an offer for Rashford, but any possible agreement is probably going to be a loan because United will have to pay a large amount of his £350,000 weekly salary. Despite their interest in Rashford, Juventus has previously ruled out a transfer for him because of salary issues.
It’s interesting to note that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan’s senior advisor, has praised Rashford after playing with him at Manchester United from 2016 to 2018. Rashford may also be included in a trade including Victor Osimhen, an attacker for Napoli who has been playing well since his surprise loan to Galatasaray.
United boss Ruben Amorim has placed Rashford on the sidelines, and he has stated that he is “ready for a new challenge.” Milan recently made management changes, replacing Paulo Fonseca with Sergio Conceicao as they want to take advantage of opportunities in the winter transfer market.
Rashford would have fierce competition for a starting spot because Milan has a number of players who can play in his favorite position, including Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao of Portugal. Rashford’s chances of getting regular playing time at the club are further complicated by Pulisic’s impressive season and Leao’s significant performance in the Super Cup final. Milan would need to significantly subsidize Rashford’s high salary in order to make a loan agreement possible.
