Francis Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, met with Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana prior to the Red Devils’ Europa League comeback victory over Bodo/Glimt, bringing celebrity power to Old Trafford.
In order to highlight their friendship and common ancestry, the two Cameroonian natives posed for pictures with Onana’s wife, Melanie Kamayou. As a passionate supporter of Manchester United, Ngannou relished the momentous occasion of Ruben Amorim’s first triumph as manager of the team.
The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with United falling behind early on before winning 3-2 thanks to an outstanding brace from Rasmus Hojlund. Ngannou wore a light jacket and his trademark red cap, mirroring his friend’s excitement, while Onana, still wearing his squad tracksuit, posed confidently for the photographers pitchside.

The pair has already been in the spotlight together; their connection, which stems from their Cameroonian roots, has been recorded. During Manchester United’s preseason tour in the US last year, they were spotted hooking up.
The visit gave Ngannou a little respite from his rigorous fighting schedule. After defeating Renan Ferreira via knockout in the October PFL Super Fight, the newly crowned heavyweight champion appeared calm and collected. Onana, meantime, had just finished a taxing ninety minutes on the field, making crucial saves in spite of giving up twice.
