HUGE MOVE: Liverpool agree to spend £50m to pursue Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo

Liverpool eye £50m move for Premier League striker.

Liverpool and Newcastle are reportedly interested in Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo, who has flourished under head coach Andoni Iraola. Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs chasing Semenyo, while AFC Bournemouth have also been linked with a move for Semenyo.

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, 25, has been one of Bournemouth’s best performers this season. Semenyo has emerged as a high-profile transfer target after improving his form under Iraola, with Liverpool and Newcastle named as two of the clubs interested in the former Bristol City man.

Liverpool have a ‘trump card’ in the Antoine Semenyo deal. Bournemouth are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool’s Ben Doak. The 19-year-old winger has thrived on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough. Ben Doak could go the other way if Semenyo is approached about a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have already rejected an offer from Crystal Palace for Ben Doak. But with the latter now closing in on Romain Esse from Millwall, it remains to be seen whether they will return to the negotiating table for Doak.

First reported by The Sun, Semenyo is valued at £50m. That would mean clubs would only be able to buy Semenyo in the summer, unless things change in the coming weeks.

Another name on Liverpool’s radar is Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. The 23-year-old Georgian superstar has already handed in a transfer request to Napoli. Kvaratskhelia is believed to be keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but the French giants are yet to agree a deal with Napoli.

Napoli boss Antonio Conte confirmed on Saturday that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia wants to leave. Antonio Conte said: “Kvaratskhelia has asked Napoli to sell him. I am disappointed. It was a shock. I don’t want Kvaratskhelia to think that I am tying him down here. We are losing an important player.”

Former Tottenham and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte added: “I tried to convince Kvaratskhelia to stay but he decided to leave and find a new challenge. The club and his agent will find a solution… I can’t keep Kvara here if he doesn’t want to stay.”

Liverpool have plenty of quality strikers but are yet to agree a new contract with star man Mohamed Salah, while Luis Diaz has been linked with a number of clubs over the past 12 months, including Barcelona.
